Pestonji Bomanji (1851-1938) was trained in academic realistic style at the art school in Mumbai, India. Most of his paintings are in the academic western realistic style and he excelled at scenes of Parsi day to day and religious life.
Bomanji was educated at Elphinston High School, Bombay. 1864 At the age of 13 became the student of J.J. School, Bombay, and was trained under principal John Griffiths, John Lockwood Kipling and Higgins.

"At Rest" by Pestonji Bomanji. He was an Indian visual artist who was born in 1851. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'Self Portrait' sold at Pundole's 'Fine & Decorative Art' in 2014 for $15,718. The artist died in 1938. About the Art Prints
