Woman Combing Her Hair Large Framed Print

" Woman Combing Her Hair " by Edgar Degas is a rare painting depicting nudity and his detour from his usual paintings themed on dancing. Degas began to draw and paint women drying themselves with towels, combing their hair, and bathing. The strokes that model the form are scribbled more freely than before; backgrounds are simplified. Except for his characteristically brilliant draftsman ship and obsession with the figure, the pictures created in this late period of his life bear little superficial resemblance to his early paintings. |
