Giovanni Bellini was an Italian Renaissance artist. His father was Jacopo Bellini, his brother Gentile Bellini, and brother-in-law Andrea Mantegna. The latter had a great impact on his work. He created altarpieces for which he used Greek and Byzantine icons as inspiration, as well as portraits characterized by their green-golden landscapes in the background. Giovanni Bellini revolutionized Venetian painting through his more sensuous and colouristic style. He used clear, slow-drying oil paints and created luscious, rich tints and detailed shadings. His most famous works include 'Resurrection of Christ' (1475-1479) and 'Pietà' (1505) as well as his version of the holy conversation (1490).About the Life Size Posters
