About Jahan Ara At The Taj Abdur Rahman Chugtai
Abdur Rahman Chughtai was a Pakistani painter, noted for his work inspired by a variety of sources that included traditional miniature, Mughal, Art Nouveau, Orientalist, and Islamic styles of painting.   Chughtai's best-known paintings are his portraits, featuring their subjects existing in a flattened pictorial space painted in rich golds and pastels, and populated by metaphorical signifiers.   A prolific artist, he created thousands of watercolors, drawings, and prints over the course of his life. Chughtai was lauded as one of the most important Muslim artists of the early 20th century, and went on to achieve widespread attention and honor for his work, including the Presidential Medal for Pride of Performance from the Pakistani government in 1968.

Accolades From Our Customers

I have been spending a lot of time in my living room and have the picture I bought from Tallenge Store. It is a thing of beauty! The picture brings me such joy and peace. I am grateful for your purchasing program which makes it possible for me to own this!
I got the painting this weekend – it is absolutely awesome. It’s hanging in my office, where I spend a huge amount of time and so it’s well placed. It is bright and happy.
The team answered my questions very patiently prior to purchase and accommodated all my requests. The painting itself was delivered on time to me in London and the quality of packaging was commendable.
