Jurassic Park (1993) is American science fiction action film directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the novel by Michael Crichton. The film is set on the fictional island of Isla Nublar where a wealthy businessman John Hammond and a team of genetic scientists have created a wildlife park of de-extinct dinosaurs. The movie received highly positive reviews from critics, who praised its special effects, acting, John Williams' musical score, and Spielberg's direction. Jurassic Park is considered a landmark in the development of computer-generated imagery and animatronic visual effects and has won numerous awards and accolades.

 

The film has four commercially successful sequels: The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park III (2001), Jurassic World (2015), and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), with a fifth sequel, Jurassic World Dominion (2022) to conclude the story. Over the 5 movies, the cast has included Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, BD Wong and Irrfan Khan alongside Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus (T Rex, acknowledged by Spielberg as "the star of the movie"), Velociraptors, Pterosaurs, Spinosaurus, Indominus rex, Mosasaurus, Indoraptors and many other dinosaurs.
