This painting shows the pumping building of the Machine de Marly , seen from downstream, left bank of the Seine . The building Machine de Marly was destroyed in 1968. Going down to the banks of the Seine by the paved sidewalk, just before a small path under an avenue of ash trees and chestnut trees, is the view of Sisley for this painting that represents the shed bricks covering the Machine de Marly.
