The films also stars Vinod Khanna, Raakhee, Rekha and Amjad Khan. Muqaddar Ka Sikandar was the highest-grossing Indian film of 1978. It was also was the third highest-grossing Indian film of the decade, after Sholay and Bobby. Muqaddar Ka Sikandar was a blockbuster in India and the Soviet Union. Although it was nominated for several major Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, it failed to win in any category.
