Lenore "Lee" Krasner was an American abstract expressionist painter, with a strong speciality in collage. She was married to Jackson Pollock. Although there was much cross-pollination between their two styles, the relationship somewhat overshadowed her contribution for some time. View Artist Collection

About Still Life On A Table
"Still Life On A Table" by Lee Krasner is a popular painting by the artist. Still life, is one of 18 near-identically formatted oil on paper studies produced by Krasner in 1938. At the time, Krasner was a student enrolled at the Hans Hofmann School of Fine Arts, and these oil studies—if taken as a distinct developmental series—reveal her absorption and experimentation with the aesthetic theories of Analytical Cubism as espoused by Hofmann, an influential teacher and early exponent of Abstract Expressionism.
