This is a stunning giclee numbered limited edition modern reproduction of an original linocut by Cyril Power of Bank Road Tube Station. The London Underground was one of the most dynamic technological advances of the nineteenth century. By the time Cyril Power created this image in 1932 there were at least six kilometres of track, and the Underground was one of the most potent symbols of the new industrial age. Power was fascinated by the Underground, and he depicted various aspects: from stairs and cascading escalators to the technologically advanced curves of the tunnels and electrical signage announcing arrival of the trains.
