"Untitled (Man and Woman)", a famous paintings by the Indian polymath Rabindranath Tagore depicts a man and a woman in the same frame, the man looks towards the viewer while the woman's eyes are fixed upon the male figure. The sad faces, the dark shades and Tagore's references to Kadambari Devi as a subject of his paintings, give us an insight into the poet's creative subconscious. In "Untitled (Man and Woman)", both the man and woman are lost in the whirlwind of sorrow trying to reach out to each other. Done in browns and subdued colours the painting evokes memories of his youth.
